What's Brewing With F.R.E.D.
F.R.E.D. brought our robots to the local Caribou Coffee shop, which is connected to our grocery store. The robots were driven around while we shared what our team does, how to get involved with FIRST, and how the team affects our community. Customers also had the opportunity to drive the robots! Our FLL team was also there presenting their skit on renewable energy. They also are there with their robots to share about their team and handed out At Home Energy Audits.
FriluftFest
F.R.E.D. attend our town's 2nd FriluftFest, an annual Nordic festival our town puts on the Warroad River. Members braved the cold and brought the robot onto the ice while serving hot chocolate and hot dogs. This gives our community an opportunity to connect and learn more about our robot.
Yeti Fest
For the past 3 years F.R.E.D. has taken part in the Yetifest. The YetiFest is a collection of activities taking place on the Lake of the Woods. We brought our robots for people to drive $1 a minute and talk about our team. Members also are involved in the Polar Plunge. All proceeds from this go to our school's Special Olympics.
Robot Without
Borders
Robots without borders is currently active this year. We sent VEX robots up to the school in Sprague, Manitoba to get kids involved with FIRST and robotics in general.
